Whir is a social cycling app that aims to connect like-minded individuals and foster a vibrant cycling community. The app provides a platform for cyclists to easily organise rides, share experiences and build connections without the constraints of traditional cycling clubs or groups.

The competitive landscape of cycling apps, many of which focused on performance tracking or required membership in established groups, presented a challenge. Whir aimed to differentiate itself by offering a simple, accessible and social-focused experience. The app focuses on creating unique experiences and community building over intense competition. It needed to have a cool factor but also emphasise shared rides, exploration and personal growth while fostering a supportive and inclusive environment.

I designed a sleek and modern app that prioritised ease of use and a strong sense of community. By incorporating a vibrant lime colour scheme, it evoked a sense of speed and excitement, aligning with the dynamic nature of cycling. The app's clean and intuitive interface, combined with fun illustrations, created a friendly and inviting atmosphere. By emphasising spontaneity and flexibility, Whir empowered users to quickly organise rides and connect with others in their local area, fostering a thriving cycling community.
